OUR INITIATIVES

SHPETINAS

The SHPEtinas program accelerates and affirms Latina representation at all levels of STEM corporate and academic leadership. Encouraging Latinas to pursue higher education and careers in STEM recognizes the unique perspective they bring to solving the world's most pressing problems while creating new, influential role models for future leaders. At SHPE Georgia we follow this mission through workshops, panel discussions, events and many other activities which help increase women representation in STEM fields. We strive for the SHPEtina program to help our Latina engineers build a great career while providing support to continue breaking barriers and excelling.

MENTORSHPE

The purpose of the Georgia MentorSHPE program is to facilitate expanding professional networks, allow participants to gain new knowledge and insights, and build new skills for both mentors and mentees. The goal of the Georgia MentorSHPE program is to help support personal and professional growth and development through one-to-one mentoring/peer mentoring relationships.

SCHOLARSHPE

Lack of funds is one of the most challenging reasons facing Hispanic students pursuing their degrees. SHPE offers thousands of reasons to ensure their members DO reach graduation – over a million to be exact. With over 1,500 scholarships awarded since 2018 totaling over $5,000,000, SHPE is actively narrowing the gap in the Hispanic STEM education pipeline.

SHPE JR.

The purpose of SHPE Jr. is to provide youth with opportunities to participate in hands-on STEM activities, become educated about possible career paths, and become empowered and involved in the world of STEM as a Hispanic individual. At SHPE Georgia our mission is to help educate K12 students, parents, and schools across the state of Georgia about engineering and college.
